What is a heat transfer?

Heat transfer is a process where the graphic or design is transferred from a special paper or other material to the garment or fabric.

Heat transfers are used most often when screen printing is not cost effective or the detail is such that it is not a viable option. There are many varieties of transfer, including hot or cold peel, vinyl, foil, glimmer or flocking. All these options give a very clean and durable finish for the garment. Hot peel has become very popular as it gives a very soft hand or feel without being bulky on the fabric.

New breakthroughs in vinyl technology have resulted in an extremely popular fashion film material that is next to impossible to feel and is great for small details. It can also be layered for a multi-color look.
